140 Pairs of Shoes to Empower the Next Generation

On April 26, the Montreal Community Cares Foundation (MCCF) hosted its second annual Youth Summit, bringing together over 200 motivated and inspiring young leaders from across the city. As a proud long-time partner and annual supporter of MCCF, the Valsef Dream Big Foundation was honoured to once again take part in this impactful day, contributing $60,000 in support of the event and the foundation’s vital youth programs.

Guided by its mission to empower youth to realize their full potential through mentorship, education, and community support, MCCF continues to create meaningful opportunities for the next generation to grow, lead, and thrive.

This year, we wanted every young participant to feel truly seen, supported, and set up for success, not just in the room, but on the court and in their everyday lives. As a special surprise early in the day, our Chairman of the Board, Steph Manos, represented the Foundation and gifted 140 boys and girls from the Red Rush programs each a brand new pair of basketball shoes.

For many of these youth, access to proper, safe, and high-quality sports equipment is not guaranteed. A good pair of basketball shoes is more than just gear, it enables them to play with confidence, reduces the risk of injury, and allows them to fully participate alongside their peers. Their reactions were unforgettable, and a powerful reminder of how meaningful it is to invest in both potential and well-being.

At Valsef Dream Big, we believe that empowering youth means providing not only opportunities, but also the tools and confidence to fully participate. We’re proud to stand alongside MCCF in helping shape a future where every young person feels seen, supported, and ready to thrive.
