Creating joyful spaces where every child can play, learn, and dream.

Through the Dream Big Playground Program, the Valsef Dream Big Foundation offers up to $100,000 in funding to help schools, organizations, and communities build or renovate playgrounds that inspire imagination and connection.

Eligible applicants include:

Public elementary schools
-
Daycare centers (CPE, subsidized and private)

Registered nonprofits or community organizations
-
Municipalities or community centers with a clear child-development mandate
-
Be located in the province of Quebec
The project must:
-
Benefit children aged 1 to 12
-
Be located in Greater Montreal, including the South Shore and North Shore
-
Demonstrate an urgent need, strong community engagement, and long-term sustainability (e.g., parent committees, volunteers, local partnerships)
-
Support a large number of children
-
Align with the Foundation’s mission to support children’s well-being and full potential
Funding will NOT be awarded for:
-
Political or religious organizations or activities
-
Projects located outside Greater Montreal
-
Repayment of deficits or debts
-
Creation of reserve funds
-
A private institution, except for a childcare center
-
Maximum of $100,000 in donation per project
-
A minimum contribution of 10% of the total project cost must come from complementary sources (e.g., school funds, parent committee, matched funding, external donations, etc.).
Funding may cover:

Playground structures
-
Inclusive and accessible play equipment
-
Safe surfacing and landscaping
-
Installation and signage costs

Selection Process

Submission of the online application form by April 6, 2026 (11:59 PM)

Invitation to a virtual validation meeting

Obtaining required approvals

Final confirmation of the selected project

Financial commitment (signing of the agreement)

Playground inauguration
When submitting your application, please provide the following documents to facilitate the review and selection process:

A letter of intent outlining the urgent needs and the number of children who will benefit

A drawing or layout plan of the proposed playground design
-
A preliminary estimated budget
-
A proposed construction timeline
For schools only: A written email confirmation from the school service center (or school board) confirming that no demolition or major construction is planned within the next ten (10) years.
