For the second year in a row, the Dream Big Foundation was proud to sponsor two Christmas trees through the Make-A-Wish | Rêves d’enfants Canada‘s Trees of Joy initiative.
The event, hosted at the iconic Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal, welcomed over 300 attendees, including more than 20 families who came together to celebrate the holiday season. Each child was presented with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree tailored to their passions, a gift that was later delivered to their home to bring joy and festive cheer throughout the season.
Our Dream Big team gathered early in the day to decorate two special Christmas trees for two remarkable boys, ages 7 and 13, both of whom have bravely battled brain cancer and are now in remission.
The first tree was inspired by Thomas’ love for Star Wars. From lightsabers to galactic decorations, a Montreal Canadiens hat, and blue ribbons, every detail was crafted to reflect Thomas’ passion. Watching his eyes light up when he saw his tree was an unforgettable moment that touched everyone’s hearts.
The second tree celebrated Alek’s enthusiasm for basketball and chips. With basketball-themed ornaments and creative nods to his favorite snack, the tree was a slam dunk in every sense. Alek’s joy and excitement reminded us all of the incredible impact that small acts of kindness can have.
Thanks to the success of the event, Make-A-Wish Quebec will be able to grant more than 20 future wishes for children facing critical illnesses in Quebec. More than $ 470,000 was raised with this event!
We are deeply grateful to Make-A-Wish and CN for organizing such a meaningful initiative and for giving us the chance to support our community in this magical way.
At the Dream Big Foundation, we believe in the power of big dreams, and we are honoured to help make them come true.
A special thank you to the volunteers: Joe Khoubbieh and his sons, Lucy Saunders and her daugther, Mady Patterson, Marcela Jaramillo, Ernesto Aragon Duran and Veronnik Marcil’s family for their help.
